Application of Automotive Body Adhesive
Automotive adhesives are widely used, including body in white, spray paint shops, power systems, and assembly. The bonding parts of automotive body structures include the bonding and sealing of the body, roof, doors, and seats.
Driven by the automotive industry's demand for weight reduction and improved fuel efficiency, the market demand for adhesives in the automotive industry continues to grow. The automotive industry is increasingly inclined to use more lightweight materials, such as plastics, composite materials, and aluminum alloys, which ultimately require the use of adhesives. Therefore, these are the main factors driving the growth of the global adhesive market.

& nbsp; (1) Acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive: A pressure-sensitive adhesive refers to an adhesive that can generate adhesive force by applying appropriate pressure. This adhesive has a certain adhesive force to various materials and has high peel strength, and can even be reused. Acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive is a copolymer of acrylic acid. This adhesive has a simple formula, does not require thickening, softening, or anti-aging agents, is non-toxic or low toxic, and its long-term outdoor performance does not decrease significantly. Therefore, it has become the most widely produced variety in the field of pressure-sensitive adhesives< br />
& nbsp; (2) SBS type pressure-sensitive adhesive: The main raw materials are SBS and SIS, which are rarely used.

& nbsp; (1) Chlorobutyl decorative adhesive
& nbsp; & nbsp; Chloroprene rubber is the earliest developed synthetic rubber, which has reversible crystallinity, high adhesive strength, high tensile strength and elongation, excellent weather resistance and heat resistance. The adhesive prepared can be cold cured at room temperature and has the characteristics of high adhesive strength, high initial adhesion, good medium resistance, and wide bonding range. However, long-term storage of chloroprene rubber will release hydrogen chloride, promote its hydrolysis, and corrode metals. Therefore, magnesium oxide and lightweight zinc chloride need to be added. To prevent adhesive aging, anti-aging agents can also be added< br />
& nbsp; (2) SBS type decorative adhesive
It has the characteristics of high strength, good toughness, fast curing, and low temperature resistance< br />
& nbsp; (3) Water based decorative adhesive
High solid content and good bonding strength. In addition, there are polyurethane adhesives.

& nbsp; (1) EVA hot melt adhesive
& nbsp; & nbsp; The currently most widely used hot melt adhesive. EVA resin is used as the base material, with rosin glycerides and polymerized rosin as thickeners, and polymer paraffin as plasticizers< br />
& nbsp; (2) SBS hot melt adhesive
& nbsp; & nbsp; Similar in composition to EVA hot melt adhesive, except that SBS is used instead of EVA to obtain hot melt adhesives with different properties. In addition, there are polyamide hot melt adhesive and polyester hot melt adhesive.

& nbsp; & nbsp; 4. Sealing adhesive for automobile body structure
& nbsp; & nbsp; PU adhesive is an adhesive containing amino ester groups (NHCOO) and/or isocyanate groups (NCO) in the base material molecules. It is the most commonly used sealant, with good wear resistance, adjustable performance, wide application range, high mechanical strength, low tenderness and softness, excellent recovery, and can be used for sealing dynamic joints. But there are also drawbacks, such as inability to withstand heat for a long time, susceptibility to UV aging, and the need for a primer in many situations< br />
The application of polyurethane sealant in automobiles includes the assembly and sealing of car windows (windshields), as well as the assembly of car bodies and other components. In recent years, the annual demand for polyurethane adhesives in China has grown at an average rate of 30%. In addition, there are rubber type sealing adhesives and polysulfide sealing adhesives.

& nbsp; & nbsp; 5. Welding sealant
& nbsp; & nbsp; Pre coated on the lap joint of steel plate welding, spot welded and filled with gaps to ensure sealing and prevent rust. For those parts that are covered after assembly and difficult to apply weld sealant, spot welding sealant is indispensable. This type of adhesive mainly includes resin type sealant mainly composed of PVC weld sealant and rubber type welding sealant mainly composed of styrene butadiene rubber and butyl rubber.
